| Befriending | |||
Befriending Service Befriending is a service to help parents or young people who need advice, support or just a listening ear from someone independent.
Clients may come to us directly or be referred from statutory agenciesBefrienders Befrienders are selected from experienced volunteers.
All Befrienders have completed at least units 1 & 2 of the Open College Network South West accredited, Child Protection Training.
All Befrienders have at least 20 hours training in listening skills.
All Befrienders have been Police checked.Process A meeting will then be arranged between the Co-ordinator, Professional Worker and Befriender, to draw up a contract (with the Client's agreement).
The Professional Worker will arrange introductions between the Befriender and Client.
The Befriender and Client will agree regular patterns of visits.
